White House officials meet Muslim Brothers in Washington

Perhaps another conspiracy?

White House and other U.S. officials met with representatives of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood movement in Washington earlier this week, U.S. National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said.

Tuesday’s meeting with working-level National Security Council officials was just one in a series of meeting between U.S. officials, senators and members of the Muslim Brotherhood designed to broaden the United States’ engagement with Egypt’s new and emerging political parties, Vietor told journalists on Wednesday.

"We believe that it is in the interest of the United States to engage with all parties that are committed to democratic principles, especially nonviolence,” he said. "In all our conversations with these groups, we emphasize the importance of respect for minority rights, the full inclusion of women, and our regional security concerns."

The Islamist group has been banned in Egypt for decades before being legalized following the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak in last year’s popular uprising, and has since emerged as a powerful political force. Its Freedom and Justice Party is set to control almost half of the seats in Egypt's new parliament.

Vietor’s announcement came just days after the Muslim Brotherhood said it would put forward its main financier Khairat al-Shatir to run in next month’s presidential elections, reversing its previous pledge not to take part in the vote.

hello 2012

This is a tad late but I would like to wish the world a happy new year 2012. Hopefully this new year will bring more joy and happiness to a somewhat vapid world.

I have been busy because my family just shifted to another place so we are adjusting. And my laptop got stolen in school, so that was pretty crap. So i tried to be a good girl as I am always and successfully persuaded my dad to get me a new one. Like a 3 days ago. hahahaa. Rox!!

anyways the I was much interested in the global recession. U know the irony about the movie 2012 where the whole world is crumbling down, is an apt metaphorical analogy for the global economy. Yes! the whole world economy is tumbling down and collapsing. After 2012, the world economy will see a rebirth once again. Thats my take on the current economic landscape.

:)

I'll be back...

randomness

Americans are stupid. And they came up with the stupidest policies ever.

And you think you so damn great, then might as well be God. Lucky for you, no bombing on 9/11 this year.

The economic downturn and the ongoing devastation in the Americans social and political pockets are merely signs that the Americans should repent. before its too late. You guys are cursed for sure. Just look at the people and the country.

Stop nose-ing at peoples' problems. take care of your own mess. Stop this going around spreading viral islamophobic scare tactics. We MUSLIMS are humans too. It's a natural defense action. just like Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says, only attack when u are being attacked.

Sick of you dinkies.

A story on Rachel Corrie

Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old American protester and a member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), was killed by an Israeli bulldozer in Gaza in March 2003. Rachel acted as a human shield to prevent the demolition of a local Palestinian's home, against the inhumane acts of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).

Interestingly, the IDF stated that the Rachel's death was due to the restricted angle of view of the IDF Caterpillar D9 bulldozer driver, while ISM eyewitnesses said "there was nothing to obscure the driver's view."

An e-mailed report from the Palestine Monitor stated:

Rachel Corey [sic], 23 years old from the state of Washington, was killed while she was trying to prevent Israeli army bulldozers from destroying a Palestinian home. Other foreigners who were with her said the driver of the bulldozer was aware that Rachel was there, and continued to destroy the house. Initially he dropped sand and other heavy debris on her, then the bulldozer pushed her to the ground where it proceeded to drive over her, fracturing both of her arms, legs and skull. She was transferred to hospital, where she later died. Another foreigner was also injured in the attack and has been hospitalized - at this stage his nationality is unknown.” (15 March 2003)

A press release from the International Solidarity Movement stated that:

“Rachel had been staying in Palestinian homes threatened with illegal demolition, and today Rachel was standing with other non-violent international activists in front of a home scheduled for illegal demolition. According to witnesses, Rachel was run over twice by the Israeli military bulldozer in its process of demolishing the Palestinian home. Witnesses say that Rachel was clearly visible to the bulldozer driver, and was doing nothing to provoke an attack.” (15 March 2003)

Kelantan Minister : "Who says the world is safer without Osama is a lackey of America"

Apologies for choppy translation courtesy of Google Translator with minimal editing done.

KUALA LUMPUR (Arrahmah.com) - Minister of Kelantan, Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat issued a statement one day after the Americans broadcast the news on the martyrdom of Sheikh Osama Bin Laden.

Here is Nik Abdul Aziz's statement:

If you really think that Osama Bin Laden actually was killed by U.S. troops as announced by President Barack Obama last night (05/02/2011), then I as a Muslim pray for mercy and forgiveness from Allah for Osama Bin Laden who is my brother in Islam.

This is demanded by Islam when receiving news about fellow Muslim brother's death. If he dies in a state of faith, pleading prayers were offered by forgiveness to them from another Muslim brother.

As for Osama Bin Laden's involvement with acts of terrorism, I leave everything to God because he is still not proven yet, but only the widespread of such propaganda which was pioneered by the United States. If it is true he was involved with acts of terrorism, of course I do not support terrorism. However, bin Laden's involvement with acts of terrorism remains a vague news that could not be validated, but the United States own involvement in terrorism has been proven.

This is obvious with the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq which had destroyed the two countries with the aim of seeking weapons of mass destruction that could not be found until today. What the United States has done to act against Israel's evil doings in the land of Palestine? Not only the Americans did not act, but instead the most hardliner Americans support Israel. Indeed, if bin Laden is considered as a terrorist, then Israel is more appropriately known as terrorists, and their supporters, the United States, also can never escape from the same stigma.

This is what I said to the Ambassador of the United States who came to my office on 28 April 2011, that any pair slippers a master should not be deprived, let alone a sovereign country like Palestine, and similarly the Israelis do not have rights to seize Palestine.

As for those who say that the world is more safe with the death of Osama, I consider the statement as inaccurate and intended only to manifest themselves as American lackeys. If the world is more safe with the death of bin Laden, whether the world will also be more happy with being American?

So, yours respectfully.

MASTER TEACHER Dato 'NIK ABDUL AZIZ BIN FAITHFUL NIK MAT
Chief Minister of Kelantan.
